Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone with K40 know if this is what the connection looks like to one of the detection units? I found this in the bumper of the car and don't have a clue what it is for. Previous owner (extended family member) did have K40 installed, but I thought it was removed... Ideas?

POST 2Original post

That connects to the detector unit found in the front/rear bumpers.

POST 3Original post

Look under the dash or along the side of the console to see if the on/off/selector switch is still installed. It has concentric dials that control volume and sensitivity. If it's there, try turning it on, you may have found a $1000 bonus.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Everything is there except for the front unit- can those be bought seperately? I'm actually planning on taking it out, but would be curious to see it's performance as I could install it in another car. I'm a big V1 believer- saved my butt at least 3x in the last week alone.

POST 5Original post

Sorry Nick, I don't know if components can be bought separately. Good luck.

POST 6Original post

If you had an older K-40 receiver, you could send it to the manufacturer for a replacement with an updated one for only $125. I don't know if they'll just sell you the receiver if you don't have an old one to send them. I had my old receiver replaced, but I had to send them my old one first.

POST 7Original post

Nick...I think I know who installed that...if it was near local. Let me know.
