Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Got the PSE installed on my '02 C4S today, and I've put on ~100 miles since then.

Only problem is Suncoast down in FL takes a bit longer to get to me out here on the west coast if I need it faster.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Got the PSE installed on my '02 C4S today, and I've put on ~100 miles since then. The sound quality is similar to the stock set up, but significantly louder when accelerating hard. It makes a more noticable "cough" when the engine is being started, and to my relief, it sounds as docile as the stock set up when cruising...perfect.
To me a major part of the Porsche experience is the sound the engines make, and PSE greatly enhances the sound IMO. The first time I heard PSE was within the confines of a very large enclosed service area, and when the mechanic drove the car to the service bay, he brought smiles to the faces of everyone there by reving the engine a few times before parking it. As good as PSE sounds outside, it sounds twice as good inside.
I too have the PSE installed and the sound is wonderful. I was a bit annoyed at the sound cutout that occured at lower speeds during acceleration. But as always this board proved incredibly valuable as I located a quick mod to eliminate the cut out. I am only slightly mechanical and start to finish the mod took less then 10 minutes. I highly recommend it!
I got mine at my local dealer and thus paid retail...ouch! Several of my friends have asked me why I bought the C4S instead of the turbo. My answer: the normally aspirated flat-six with the PSE sounds absolutely fantastic, and as fast1 noted above, to me also this is an integral part of the visceral experience that makes driving a Porsche inspirational. My first experience in a 911 was in my brother's '02 C2 with PSE. That left an OVERWHELMING impression on me, and immediately and completely changed the way I felt about the BMW 540i I was driving at the time. I tried to duplicate that experience by trading up to an M3, and then an M5, but ultimately couldn't. Getting a 911 required me to buy a third car (M-B CLS 500) as I have four kids, but darn it, there was no other way...I tried. And I did try to keep the M5, but the wife can't drive a stick...something about how it was unfair I had an M5 AND a 911 and all she had was an SUV.
I looked all over, and ordered from Jeff at Sunset. The cheapest I could find, and Jeff is great to deal with.

Approx $1450 including the dash switch (not part of the kit) and shipping to Georgia.
You are right .... my fingers move faster than my brain .... and I even had the correct "sunset" in the email address for Jeff.
Its SUNSET .... in Oregon, I believe. I have edited my original post.
Sorry for the confusion. Thanks LVDell.
No problem. Just wanted to make sure others knew what you meant since I have dealt with both and highly rec'd both places. Only problem is Suncoast down in FL takes a bit longer to get to me out here on the west coast if I need it faster.
The PSE rocks, as does the mod to eliminate the cutout. My PSE has gotten significantly louder over time (at least in the default "loud" position, which also Rocks that the factory opts for loud by default). The quiet setting is still just as quiet.
I only see one downside to the PSE. Now, whenever I pass through an underpass or a tunnel, I cannot help but stomp on the loud pedal just to hear the beautiful sound. Then I usually start smiling or laughing, which probably makes everyone else who looks to see who's making so damn much noise think I am nuts. Oh well.
