Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Also if any of you have done this change out before; how easy is it to do for someone who has changed brakes before on a vehicle but not worked extensively on auto electronics?

Am thinking about changing over to litronics on my 99 996 later on this year.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Am thinking about changing over to litronics on my 99 996 later on this year. Any ideas of good sources to purchase parts (online vs dealer vs other). Also if any of you have done this change out before; how easy is it to do for someone who has changed brakes before on a vehicle but not worked extensively on auto electronics? If anyone has done it before or knows of a good DIY I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences. Average cost also? Any pros and cons?
Also have chrome/polished lugs for my 996 but have been unable to find good looking polished wheel lock lugs for my 996. So I've got 4 lugs that look good but 1 lug per wheel that don't looks so hot (original OEM lock lugs). Any thoughts or suggestions of where to find good lug locks for a 996 to match the polished lugs I have on there now?
Thanks alot...yeah I know pics to post soon...gotta get my digital camera back from my family. My bad.
Did the litronics....took me all of 10 minutes. Paid $1095 shipped from B-Wine.
As for the chrome lugs I have seen them on eBay. Also, you might try Ralph Boothe.
I second Dell's recommendation of Brandywine. The Litronics come in one HUGE box that won't fit inside the 996! Fortunately, if you open the big box you will see two not so big boxes (one for each headlight assembly) that will fit inside the 996. I had the Litronics delivered to the office because I was on travel (and couldn't sign for it) and when my co-workers saw the huge box they thought I had bought a Porsche mini-fridge!
I recently saw a "Conversion Kit" on ebay for $299 (see link). It indicated that it was "Designed Specifically for Porsche." Has anybody tried this?

I looked into those. Basically, they sell you Xenon filled H7 bulbs and ballasts. I wouldn't recommend them. They are hardly worth $299, IMHO. They may be bright but they won't have the projector-style lenses that come with the Litronics retrofit kit and won't be able to focus the light onto the road -- you're likely to **** off oncoming traffic. There is only one kit specifically designed for Porsche and that is the
OEM Litronics Retrofit Kit
. Don't believe the hype in the eBay ad.
