My car is nearing 30k and I'm planning on doing it myself. I may be missing some items, so feel free to correct me (I want to do this right), but I believe it includes the following: oil/filter change air filter pollen filter belt change brake fluid change (not sure if this is required, but my car is nearing 6 years old) spark plug change - yes, I know these are a 60k item but I am planning on changing them anyway. Question: can I use the later model spark plugs ('02-'04) which are 4-pt. instead of 2-pt.? I understand that they are better, but is there a reason why I shouldn't try to use them in my '99 3.4 liter? Will they fit/work? Is there anything else I am missing on the list of things to do? What about plug wires? any misc. ignition parts, etc.? What about tiptronic tranny fluid? When do I change it? What about wheel bearings/grease - aren't they supposed to be done at 90k? Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer me. I'm pretty handy with tools and can easily do this stuff. I'd take it to a dealer or reputable service center if there was one here - I'm on an island with a half-assed MBZ/Honda dealership (owned by the Porsche dealer in Honolulu) who can't really be trusted to do service. The only German car guy that works on Porsches is known to rip people off. So that leaves just me...
