Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just bought a C4S ('02Lapis Blue/Metropol Blue) and had planned on purchasing the factory sport exhaust after previously hearing the difference it made to my brother's C2. However, the C4S exhaust sounds more aggressive (good) than I recall on my brother's C2 with stock exhaust, but not as aggressive as his C2 after adding the factory sports exhaust. Does anyone know if the C4S was tuned differently? I am new to rennlist, and will post a pic as soon as I figure out how that's done (sorry...sad but true ).

POST 2Original post

'02+ cars have a more aggressive exhaust note.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I believe you are referring to the changes made to all "02+ 996 Carreras. My brother has a "02 996 C2. My C4S sounds more aggressive......am I just imagining it?

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I suppose the correct conclusion is that the stock set up sounds much better than I remember. Thanks for clearing that up. I'm not so sure I need the sports exhaust then. But then again.....

POST 6Original post

You don't need PSE. That is, until you hear one. Then, you'll WANT one.

POST 7Original post

Saw an identical p-car to mine on the road today, but he had an sports exhaust of some kind. Sounded great! Made me want one even more now.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just ordered the Sport Exhaust. I have to say, the stock set up sounds pretty good, but I can't get out of my mind how fabulous my brother's '02 C2 sounded with the sport exhaust.

POST 9Original post

PSE on a C4S sounds different to a C2..at least the comparos we've done down in H-town. Conjecture runs that the fluted fender (courtesy the Turbo body) adds to the bass.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Oh crud....is that good or bad?

POST 11Original post

You will love the sound .....with or with out the fluted fender, dont worry it will sound great!
