Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I know the 40th anniversary has its own interior carpet color (dark grey), but is the rest of the upper interior black or another darker shade of grey? I need to replace an upper interior trim piece and cannot tell if the pieces (b pillar trim) are actually black. Thanks

POST 3Original post

it is all dark grey natural, even the inside door sills are black plastic but painted with the dark grey color

POST 4Original post

I believe the leather bits are "natural grey and the plastic bits are "black" at least on mine they are.

YOU MUST NOT HAVE ANY SCUFFS ON YOUR DOOR SILL....LUCKY YOU

POST 6Original post

Oh, no I have plenty of scuffs. Door closed problem solved till next time I get out, LOL.

POST 7Original post

OK well my scuffs are bigger than yours as I can clearly see the base black plastic part and that a paint or coating has been applied that is the color of the leather hence a lighter shade of black more like a graphite color

POST 8Original post

The black was never actually black i think, from all of the "black" 996 interiors that i have seen, including my 40th AE, they are all the same shade of dark blue (gray)

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the replies. I'm not so impressed with Porsche's painted parts as they don't seem to wear very well. It almost appears like it's plasti-dipped and eventually scratches off. I'll just keep searching for standard black or black leather trimmed.
