Leading evidence: 'upstream' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'upstream' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Use multimeter' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've got the dectane LED tail lights on my 2000 cab. I've had them for about 9 or 10 months and they've worked beautifully. Yesterday, I realized that the white reverse light doesn't come on on the drivers side. I'm not very well versed in electrical issues, so I thought I would ask for some advice from any of you as to what the problem might be. Thanks in advance

POST 2Original post

Step 1: Use your multimeter to see if there's actually voltage present on the driver side when it's in reverse. If there is no voltage, your problem is upstream from the light. If there IS voltage, your LED is bad. If you don't have a multimeter, go to Radio Shack / Wal Mart / wherever and buy a cheap digital one. The cheapest one does more than you'll ever need. A multimeter is the second best troubleshooting investment you'll ever make, right after an OBD II scantool.

POST 3Original post

Agreed about the multimeter, but a quick way would be to swap the fixtures and see if the problem stays with one.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
