Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guys I'm thinking about painting my horse shoe to match other alumalook items in my interior. Thoughts? Should I leave it as is or paint it?

POST 2Original post

Buy a spare off eBay and paint that. Then you can swap back if doesn't turn out right.

POST 3Original post

Your horse shoe? Forgive me but what in the blue blazes is your horse shoe?

The thing around the iPad with all the switches. It's shape resembles a horseshoe.

POST 5Original post

The lone horseshoe-shaped object in the first picture, maybe?

POST 6Original post

Paint all four or the horse might have an identity crisis. There is a nail polish that Goth girls use for... What? different thread?? Ah, never mind.

POST 7Original post

I have the same interior and I've been debating that as well. I'd say leave it alone or do what was mentioned above about painting a spare one. You could take some metallic flue tape and tape that in place as a test. Use masking tape to hold it on, don't peel off the backing or you may never get it off without ruining the piece.' Carbon fiber might look good.

POST 8Original post

You guys are doing my head in with your modding.

POST 9Original post

I recently painted my dash "trim" strips in silver "alumalook" paint. These are the thin strips that separate the upper dash from the lower dash (there are three pieces). I also debated doing the horseshoe, but I think it's too big, and would be too much silver. Just the trim strips give a little accent color without being too blingy. Just my .02

POST 10Original post

Personal choice, My instrument surround, hazard and ignition surround are all Alumalook, Console is painted arctic silver and Shifter and e-brake Alumalook but for some reason I thought the horseshoe was just too much, I like the leather there better. Just my .996 cents

POST 11Original post

I think you should do it. It will spice up your interior a little bit. You could also have it done at bumperplugs.com for a nice finish.

POST 12Original post

Hurdy, due to the the labeling abomination you have performed on the rear of your car, you have lost all privileges for complaining about others' modding.
