Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

2 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just a quick shout out to this site and it's contributors. My 02 cab had an engine bay purge fan that ran a lot. It's my first 996 so wasn't sure if it was normal. I did a search, found a great thread on it and I fixed the problem in 30 seconds. SWEET! The temp sensor was not in it's holder (passenger side intake manifold). It was dangling down on the hotter parts of the engine. Thanks Rennlisters!

POST 2Original post

Glad you fixed the issue...of course soon you'll post asking why it never turns on...

POST 3Original post

Can you link the thread? I think I have a similar problem. I didn't find anything when I searched.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Link to the helpful thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...operation.html Will try to take pics tonight. It's a very simple thing.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

There is another good thread on this over here: http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/44419-engine-fan/

POST 8Original post

My purge fan never comes on....maybe because it's been removed.

POST 10Original post

that's great to see those pictures, thanks guys
