Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So I had a small coolant leak so I replaced the overflow tank. I filled it and started the car. Let it warm up a bit and then topped off the coolant. Took it around the block slowly and it had a miss. I brought it back and parked it and there is more coolant leaking and I got a PO 301 code (Misfire on cylinder #1). What could cause this?

POST 2Original post

Could be just coolant leaking onto a marginal #1 coil which is close to the tank. Did you use the vacuum tool?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I did not. That was my me t question and if I didnt use it would it cause a leak?

POST 4Original post

Not using the tool would not cause a leak. However, it may create hotspots where there's air so definitely not good for the engine. I think you will have to find and fix the coolant leak first regardless before diagnosing that misfire in cylinder #1.
