I don't think they would repair/replace a damaged engine, just the bearing.

Hi, I am new to the board and looking to get RMS and IMS fixed on my '00 C2 cabriolet. The local Porsche dealership uses FVD IMS replacement. I haven't heard much about their product. Can you guys offer any insight?

The dealership said they believe they are the same thing. There is a 1 year warranty from FVD and the dealership is giving 2 year parts and labor warranty. They did say they have installed two of them so far and there have been no complaints.

Not sure I'd want my engine to be the 3rd they do is my only hesitation. I'd like it to be the 25th so they have seen and solved some problems. Haven't seen a LN with a guarantee/warranty before. But did hear they were using a distributor and this may be a byproduct of that.

When LN was selling to DIY community they had a warranty if you sent the original bearing in for their inspection. As long as the bearing did not show signs of deterioration they would warranty the BEARING. I don't think they would repair/replace a damaged engine, just the bearing.
