Suggestion

Almost, since his keyless doesn't work at the moment, he's using the key, but the procedure is the locking motion twice in rapid succession.

One suggestion might be to put your sun shade in front of the sensor to see if you can block it (or just use duct tape).

Is there anyway to prevent the motion sensors from arming when using the keys in the door to lock them?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Everyone, The remote on both my keys have gone out of sync so I use the key to lock the door manually when I park. Problem is if I leave my dog in the car the motion sensor goes off as soon as he moves around and the alarm goes off. Is there anyway to prevent the motion sensors from arming when using the keys in the door to lock them? Or is there a way to just lock the doors and not use the alarm at all? The dog rarely sees the 911 but in the odd case it would be great to be able to lock the doors with him in it. Thank you all in advance!

POST 3Original post

yes, read the manual... there is a way but I forgot how.... read the entire manual and it will be clear as to how to leave an occupant in the car with the alarm on

POST 4Original post

I'll confirm this later, but IIRC, just push the lock button twice in succession. Doors locked, but interior sensors deactivated. -td

Heh, I didn't read that part - doh! And on second thought, what kind of guard dog do you have if he can't guard your car from the inside! -td

POST 7Original post

Locking twice quickly will work untill your dog figures out pushing the dash unlock then lock again will arm it again I think the dog is messing with you.

POST 8Original post

I know it can be done in a Cayenne, but it aint easy. One suggestion might be to put your sun shade in front of the sensor to see if you can block it (or just use duct tape).
