Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
There was a recent auction for a99 coupe that *appeared* to be clean (obviously there's no way to know before the PPI) and it was a no reserve auction but no body bid the $14K starting bid....

So I am happy to travel anywhere for the right car at the right price (and after a clean PPI).
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've been looking for a 996 for a little while now. Everyone here has been super helpful, but I'm still without a car. I thought if one of you is on the fence, I can help push you off
I'm looking for:
00-ish
Midnight blue or forest green
Cabriolet
Savanna beige interior
Manual trans
I'm committed to the above, but open to other car options. If you have anything, or know of any cars, please let me know!
Thanks!
I got exactly what you need. Midnight blue with Savanna interior. Some wear from being a daily driver. 75k miles. New top. New brakes. Would be willing to entertain an offer.
Thanks, Tim. That one is also listed somewhere else I've seen. Cars.com, or the like. It's close. But its grey interior and a tip.
My car is out there somewhere!
I'm selling, but my car is:
'99
Mirage Metallic
Coupe
Black interior
Tiptronic
Other than that, it's right on the money...
Seriously, hang in there, it shouldn't be too hard to find what you want. It will probably just take a bit of patience.
I'm always open to sell for the right price:
99
Guards Red
Black top + red hard top
43K
IMS, RMS, New clutch, H2O pump, AOS last spring
full 60K service at 36K miles
Tires have about 5K miles and include new rears sitting in my garage (conti sport 2 - N2)
I'm window shopping for turbos right now so mine might be a potential candidate but I have 113k miles on it and it's a 2002.
It is the right color combination and transmission option though...
I definitely don't mean to hijack keytohwy's thread, but just wanted to say I too am looking for a 996 and I'm not that particular on color. So if anyone has a 99-03 coupe, 6 speed, send me a pm.
2001 Carrera 4 coupe, Silver, black interior with suede roof liner, Teknic option, plush leather seats, recent clutch, 19" wheels, clean car fax, 59,500 miles, 60K tune up done (expensive)!, Fabspeed mufflers, much more, let me know...

I'm on the east coast - DC/Baltimore area.
But I have upcoming travel plans to the west coast, and family and friends in Texas, the midwest, and the rockies. So I am happy to travel anywhere for the right car at the right price (and after a clean PPI).
Good luck as I have been hunting for a while also. Looking for a 99 thru 2002 Silver/black cab C2 with a manual shift. I have found a lot of cars, but try getting someone to respond thru autotrader or cars.com after you mention a PPI is tuff. Trying to get one with miles under 60k for 24k is a challenge, so if anyone has something PM me.
Thanks
Agreed, Zenski. The auto trader and cars.com ads are weird, as many don't have phone numbers and many don't respond to emails.
I'm looking also at certain eBay auctions and contacting sellers about arranging a PPI. There was a recent auction for a99 coupe that *appeared* to be clean (obviously there's no way to know before the PPI) and it was a no reserve auction but no body bid the $14K starting bid....
You haven't looked or contacted me. Look up my pcar in the classified ads on this site. 2002 black cab, $32k new motor not a better looking cab anywhere.
