I checked both cars, and they looked to have around the same amount.
Leading evidence: 'Check cars, and they looked' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check cars, and they looked' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I didn't get how to use the "rough running" value....
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Guys,
Just connected my Durametric cable, and connected it to the car. I am not sure what I expected, but I felt the available functions wasnt that great. I was hoping for stored fault memory, but nothing in there despite the fact that I have had both CEL and blinking CEL. No active codes what so ever....
The car had some fault in the convertible top and the alarm system, and P0725 in the tip trans.
So, any thoughts what I should use my Durametric for? Any particular active values I could use to check the condition of the engine?
Regards,
Johan
Durametric has the ability to both read and clear stored faults. This has been then case since they first came out. I had one of the early one, bought in 2004 I think. Just recently upgraded it so I could use the 6.x software. Read the manual and check their site for more info on operating the tool.
If there is a CEL light and Durametric can't read the codes I would contact their support (which is excellent BTW).
If there is no CEL light on, and there are no pending codes, then well... there are no codes.
Having owned both, I find the features available in Durametric very close to those available in a genuine PST2 dealer computer. About the only areas lacking are coding, OBD2 tests, and some sensor info. But for 15% of the cost of a black market PST2, you have to ask if you really need those coding features.
Agreed, and I'm not complaining on the software itself, it looks very straight forward. I just thought I could read old codes, e.g. why I had CEL and blinking CEL. For example the BMW software show all fault codes, and then if the fault is current or not. I would be very interested in learning which cylinder that misfired, but there was not one single stored code.
Also, I miss the ability to read milage. Again, the BMW software allows to read milage on different components, like trans and cluster.
Any ideas which values to read to figure out the condition of the engine? I didn't get how to use the "rough running" value....
Regards,
Johan
Under DME information or identification I believe you can see over rev information.
There is a user manual, have you looked through it?
http://www.durametric.com/Durametric6_draftA.pdf
Once the codes are erased from the DME they cannot be retrieved again.
As for "health" of the engine. Unless you're diagnosing something in particular, you can always warm your car up and compare your numbers with the factory set points located here:

If you are interested in checking your engines health, on portion of it's health is the flywheel. You could read out your cars flywheel health for me...

Yes you should see over rev information. This is curious, I wonder if they removed (or haven't yet carried over) this feature from version 5 into version 6. Here's what it looks like in version 5:

Here's the explanation of over revs by the way.

It might be worth opening a support ticket with durametric, that is interesting you don't see your cars over rev information.
Found it! No reference in the documentation, though.
I checked both cars, and they looked to have around the same amount. Tip car had 1500 and stick car 1800 in range 1. Sounds like a lot, doesent it? The stick car had 1 in range 2, whatever that means.
Thanks,
Johan
