More eBay sellers should do no reserve auctions with low starting prices; it really shows what the market is for the cars, instead of just using eBay as a place to get national advertising.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Hi all,
As noted in an earlier thread, I've decided to find a 996 manual coupe. Looking mainly at 02-03 cars, but will consider earlier if the price is right.
There's a car on eBay right now with no reserve, and the seller has been very responsive to my emails and is fine with my having a PPI done. But before I spend money for an inspection on a car I've never seen and one I might not even win the auction on....I thought I'd just throw it out there and see if anyone wanted to take a look at it for me and give me their expert Porsche opinion on whether it's worth paying for a PPI.
The car is at casey motorcars in hermosa beach.

Here is the eBay link.
Just shoot me a PM if you feel like having a look at it. Casey asked that you call him first to let him know you are dropping by.
And to all those others hunting for a car, please don't outbid me for it!!
Just a quick bump in the hopes that maybe someone wants to sneak away from work and have a look at the car. Send me a PM if you feel like giving it a once over. I'm not sure I'm willing to pay for a PPI on a car that I haven't seen....but it looks great in ad.
Sorry I'm on the other side of town but I will recommend Callas-Rennsport for your PPI if you get the car. He's absolutely the most knowledgeable and thorough P mechanic I know....

PS: I'd ask the seller for the name of the alleged dealership that has serviced the car and ask them for a printout of service. It appears to be a beautiful car, hell there's already 42 bids....
Thanks for the PPI recommendation - very helpful!
Yes, there seem to be a ton of folks interested in this car -- maybe more now that I've posted about it here -- so it might all be a moot point if the bidding keeps going up and up.
