Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
All Mercedes V12-powered cars such as the S600 and S65 AMG use the 722.6, which has a torque capacity of 796 lb-ft
Leading evidence: 'Use 722.6' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use 722.6' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am not sure, but I doubt it if a C4 has the same tranny as a turbo... I have a C4 and am wondering the same question, but from common sense, I would imagine that a transmission that is designed for a twin turbo car is designed to handle the such of turbo boost (and the anticipated modifications by end users that typically yield more horsepower/torque).
What is your application? Perhaps if you let us know that, you can get some better advice from people whom had made similar modifications that you are intending. Also, what clutch and throw out bearing do you intend to run?
Happy driving, my friend!
Thanks guys, I'm toying with the idea of slapping a twin turbo GM LS motor in one. I'd prefer an automatic because of the superiority over the manual in a turbo application, but I'm doubting the strength of a trans to support 1000hp. Most likes I better start with the 6 speed. That's why I'm wondering what drivetrsin parts are what. I'm sure I'll figure it out soon with my searches.
You would thing the c4 and tt would share the same drivetrain, but I'm doubting it for some reason... I think I'll do tip, much faster setup with the additional torque, plus it's only $500 if it goes versus thousands for a clutch with the manual. I don't know, still researching.
Credit to roadsession for this answer from an earlier post. More detailed version of his response above. Thought this sounded familiar.
2002 to 2005 Carrera 4 and 4S models have the A96/35 Tiptronic S transmission (The 722.6 manufactured by Mercedes for Porsche). The 2001 to 2005 Turbo Tiptronic models had the A96/50 transmission, which is the same on paper except the final drive ratio is 2.89:1.

There is an article in this month's Excellence about the C4S and it states that the Tip used is the same as that in a TT. They said the rest of the drivetrain is from a C4, so no other Turbo parts.
