Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Check vin' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check vin' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
If you don't push the car hard and don't like to wring its neck and test its limits you'll be fine with a C4 and probably can't tell the difference between that and a C2.

Suggestion
C4 uses a viscous coupling to direct 5% initially to a max of around 30% at about 150 MPH of torque to the front wheels.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I had been focused on getting a 2004 or 2005 C4S Cab. Found this one on-line that looks nice but it's just a C4 without the S. Can one of you experts give me the quickie difference between the C2 and C4? I know what the S adds but not sure the differences on the 4 other than the obvious all wheel drive and I heard a smaller frunk.
Also, any thoughts on this one? Price seems reasonable based on mileage, year, and being a C4. Looks to be a very basic model but I am ok with that.

I don't think that's a C4. C4 have silver calipers. This one looks to be a RWD C2 - and yes, pretty basic without full leather...
If you live in the snow belt and want a daily driver C4 is the way to go.
C4 uses a viscous coupling to direct 5% initially to a max of around 30% at about 150 MPH of torque to the front wheels. With extended seat time and driving rather aggressively it becomes apparent the AWD cars are not as nimble, steering feels slower and a bit sluggish by comparison. With my Turbo I have not felt a bit of difference in handling that I can respond positively to. The front drive does not have enough power applied to help pull the car through turns that I've been able to tell. In fact it gave me a false sense of security and trust that has let me down and caused me to spin. A couple turns near home that I've taken hundreds of times in my '99 C2 Cab and Boxster without issue, caused some grief and upset the Turbo. I got pretty sideways once and actually spun on another.
I feel I can drive a C2 faster than a C4 aggressively and it's also more fun as the C2 are much lighter feeling. There is a reason so many Turbo enthusiasts are removing the front diff and drive. If you don't push the car hard and don't like to wring its neck and test its limits you'll be fine with a C4 and probably can't tell the difference between that and a C2. My wife would think they handle the same. This is my very narrow perspective only and I'm a pretty harsh critic. I have been chastised before because I don't like Porsche's AWD.
It's odd but I checked Carfax and another website (can't remember the name now) and both showed it as a 4. In fact, Carfax usually shows cars as a 2/4 but it shows:

I checked your VIN for you. Your dealer has mis represented the car as a C4. This car is definitely a C2 RWD. This is what your VIN reveals with the complete options that came with the car
