Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All, I am about to get a 996 40th edition with around 37k miles, the car needs new tires, so I want to take the opportunity to change the wheels as I am not a huge fan of the polished look. I plan to use the car on the street mainly with possibly 2-3 track or DE days a year at most. I love the look of the Victor Zehn wheels, they are well priced but (depending on where you get the data) they seem to be about 2-5lbs heavier than my 5 spoke BBS. I know wheel weight make and unsprung mass make a difference but my question is on a standard car that will be mostly driven on the street with std suspension will I really notice the difference?? On a final not any recommendations for tires?? Thanks

POST 2Original post

Probably not, but why add weight if you can trim a little weight in a critical area. GL with your 40th purchase.

POST 3Original post

I love the Victor Zehns as well, but the weight has always held me back, too. I ended up just installing the 2002+ 996 Carrera 18" wheels, which are lighter than my solid spoke Turbo twists, and I've been much happier.

POST 4Original post

The Zehn weighs less than the OEM turbo twits. I'm not sure how it compares to the 5-spoke BBS. I suspect the difference is small, and you probably wouldn't ever notice it.
