I see that the nozzle itself is $20, but the new "harness" (only 2 wires) is about $75 - because both have changed over to 997 parts.

Hi - I need to change over one of my windshield washer nozzles this weekend - it's not uncommon in this part of the world to have to change your windshield washer nozzles because they get water in them when the snow melts, which then freezes and expands when the weather drops to -20, requiring a replacement of a nozzle...

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi - I need to change over one of my windshield washer nozzles this weekend - it's not uncommon in this part of the world to have to change your windshield washer nozzles because they get water in them when the snow melts, which then freezes and expands when the weather drops to -20, requiring a replacement of a nozzle... I see that the nozzle itself is $20, but the new "harness" (only 2 wires) is about $75 - because both have changed over to 997 parts. So, two questions: 1. How does one remove the nozzles, are they a "twist and remove" design, or is there some kind of retaining clip? 2. Is it worth it / necessary to get the harness - shouldn't I just be able to splice in the 2 wires? Is there any reason why I shouldn't do this? Thanks!
