I once saw the 1995 GT1 up close and it had the same corner triangle used for Boxsters without washer jets.

Im going to do the 997 front end conversion, its really not that expensive if using second hand parts.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I tried this conversion, and it didn't work for me.
Came back after skiing and found that Mother Nature had converted my fried egg headlights to the 997 , what do you think?version.

All of the non-Porsche friends who see my car think it's the newest 911 because of the MKI headlight shape. They all say the round headlights look "old". Lol!
I like them both. I like that Porsche pushed the 996 out of the comfort zone of 'traditional 911' that way. I think it took some *****, especially since they were already pushing it with air- to water-cooled.
The 996 has its unique style that makes it what it is. The headlight design was for function and is more aerodynamic than the round upright looking 997. The 997 looks great but I don't understand why someone would want to alter the unique design feature that makes a 996, a 996. Call me a purest but if you want a 997 just get one. I have a 911 SC with the round frog eye look. It's the classic 911 look. Some call the 996 the fried egg. For each his own, se le vie.
I like them both.
On a 997 the lights look like they belong there and it helps add to the attractive design of the car.
But on a 996, especially a Turbo or C4S, it looks perfect and would probably not have the same muscular look with the round lights.
Who says you can only like one or the other? They're both water-cooled 911s. Both unique and easily recognized by people everywhere.
