Also, you didn't say where the pix were attempted to be taken....if it was in a parking lot of an office building, maybe the IRS, or some local attorney's office or even an insurance company or doctors office, that might explain her strange behavior...then again, if it was the case, WTF was she thinking when she jumped in the car tht morning anyhow......Regardless, the "biatches" overreaction, hmmmmm.....

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have been on the look out to purchase a P car. Today, I happened to see a really nice... very new.. (not sure year) C4S In a parking lot. Because I had seen a few cars earlier in the week, I had my camera. I proceed to get out of my car... and started snapping some photos. The car was awesome. Out of the blue a lady came screaming at me, freaking out and waving her arms... literally having a "Baby Aligator"! Then, SHE SAID (screeming) for me to erase the pictures.. . AND Started to Come AT ME... Im at a disadvantage, Im in a wheelchair?? I Was so caught off guard... I ASKED HER WHAT HER PROBLEM WAS? I said I was simply admiring her car.. She was so freaked out, I said OK, Ill erase them... I GOT BACK IN MY Van... SHE then got on her phone... took my Licence plate.? WOW?? I Still am not sure what I did so wrong??? Her Porsche was..pretty cool. She.... not so Cool WTF! BUZZ Sorry, no pics. ha!
lol, I work with the public in a grocery store on a daily basis...and in general, people are morons/borderline insane. Literally, there are real nutjobs everywhere you turn. Don't get me wrong, this lady was obviously some kind of nut...but it is rare that you find one drivng a Porsche. Don't let her give us a bad rep though. In general Pcar owners are some of the best people out there I think--of course I am one so I might be a little biased!
I think it goes both ways.. Some people like to keep their things THEIRS and not have it shared with the word.. Maybe you were going to go home and make a phony CL ad for it? Maybe you were a private detective and since she's been cheating, she freaked out? Maybe she thought you were going to ride your wheelchair into her car?
who the heck knows what "her" issues were.. but consider the roles reversed. I know I would be suspect of someone taking pics.. maybe you'll run the plate, find out where I live and rob me? Just cause she drives a porsche doesn't make her an "enthusiast".. it simple means she drives a nice car
I'm kinda siding with the Lady on this one, except for the obvious extent of the overreaction.
No offense. I'm sure you had all the best intentions -- but how does she know.
As noted, there are a lot of nutjobs out there. If you have a car like that it demonstrates that you have some sort of cash. Someone taking a picture of it or jotting down your license plate number -- well, you never know what they are going to do with it. I realize you could do the same waiting in a left turn lane.
But there is something about having someone invade what is perceived to be a "private space" even in a public area. Like someone standing over and staring into your grocery cart. Just feels slightly invasive.
90% of the time you can get away with this with a Guy driving. But I think my wife might have been a little frightened as well.
I know you meant no harm, but taking pictures of someone's car outside of a car show is a bit unusual. Had it been Mrs SSST, you might have found yourself staring at the business end of a 9mm until the cops show up.
She was a victim of someone who followed her home a few years ago, so she got her CHL and now packs heat when she goes out. She is not a timid person.
Just understand that there are a few crazies in the world and try not to be mistaken for one.
I personally find it flattering when my cars get attention. My 66 mustang gets the most. I grew up admiring neat cars and I know how they can make someone's day. It's all ages from little kids to seniors. If I have the Stang or 89 Cabriolet or 01 Carrera out and about I'm always up for conversation and take all the pics you want hell I've even let them sit in them. If time permitted I'd take them for a ride. My hope is to nurture that interest so a new car enthusiast is born. I appreciate any and all admirers of my cars!
Wow:
My .02- the car was out in public for all to view, hence, no expectation of privacy. Were you therefore doing anything wrong to take a few pix, no reason why not, and it seems that almost everyone has a cell phone with a camera, these days, so how could she reasonable expect that she and her car would be a "secret", for whatever reason. Also, you didn't say where the pix were attempted to be taken....if it was in a parking lot of an office building, maybe the IRS, or some local attorney's office or even an insurance company or doctors office, that might explain her strange behavior...then again, if it was the case, WTF was she thinking when she jumped in the car tht morning anyhow......Regardless, the "biatches" overreaction, hmmmmm..... unusual?, but not surprising.....as for why she was so uptight, that is the $65K question and we will never know....Given your physical limitation and your explanation, I would suggest that she was "a bit" off base....
Now, you want to see a bunch of great P-cars and owners, go to a local PCA event, you take take photos till your hearts content and mybe even find a seller, looking to sell his prize baby. You'll find a great bunch of people at an event, happy to talk with you.
Lady overreacted. But, I can say if my wife came out and someone was taking pictures of our car, she may become a bit flustered, especially if toting one of our children along. Hell, I might get a bit weirded out. Out of the thousands of patients I have seen, there were a few crazies included in the bunch. I have been stalked by them before, and can be wary of people doing strange things around my cars, house, or family. Can't say my wife or I would have started yelling or screaming, but probably would have hung back and waited to get YOUR plate number. Plus, you were using a typical camera, not a cell phone camera, which may make someone think you were prepared to wait til they got out of their car to take a few pictures. And you didn't say you just stopped to snap A picture. You said you were taking a "few" pictures. Walk out of somewhere and someone has a regular camera having a photo session with my car would creep me out. LAstly, being in a wheelchair means nothing. I just saw a patient a few weeks ago who was wheelchair bound and kept a bowie knife under his *** just because "you can never be too careful". He also said he regularly kept a snubnose in his coat pocket regularly when he went out in public "just in case". So, I don't think being in a wheelchair necessarily makes a total stranger who comes upon you snapping pictures of her car think you are just someone there to admire her automobile. She may have overreacted. Or maybe, considering her unknown circumstances and past life experiences, she reacted appropriately. Maybe her last encounter with a stranger in a parking lot hovering around her car did not go so well? Who knows.
Simply put. In today’s world of missing people, random acts of violence and unspeakable wrong doings it is advisable to not approach and record another’s personal property without permission, regardless if it is in a public area. If your actions are perceived as a threat, you may be the victim of a self-defense reaction and this is a fact. Now, we don’t know her history so it is unfair to arbitrarily judge her. Victims of violence react differently and everyone should be somewhat respectful of others property. Just my humble (experience) .02.
People suck. Just remember that and you'll be ok. My wife was reading a text message on her cell phone and woman came over to her screaming "Erase that picture you took of me!"
I'd feel a little weird too if I saw someone doing the same however, I probably would have just taken a pic of your van and you after watching you from afar, just in case.
A simple "may I ask why you are taking pictures of my car" could have led her to the appropriate response. There are many very angry and disturbed individuals out there. More so with the economic woes.
I guess you didn't get her number and a date then. Too bad you didn't get her email. I'm sure she reads everyone she gets especially the ones about thieves and their tricks in parking lots. Funny thing is she probably took a picture of you and the van with her cellphone.
It's easier browsing the internet for pictures. There's even websites you can browse to for screaming women if you get bored with stamped metal.
^^ THIS is all that matters. What does not matter is the fact that you were taking a picture of an object in a public setting. Now, taking pictures of PEOPLE in a public setting can be different, but not a car.
Where do you live that strangers can get your address if they have your license plate number? Why would a camera be needed?
...at which point Mrs. SSST would have had an awful lot of explaining to do. You simply cannot point a gun at another person because they took a picture of your car. I can only imagine the reaction of the police to an irate Porsche owner pointing a gun at a guy holding a camera while sitting in his wheelchair.
Anyway, people shouldn't buy Porsches if they're uncomfortable with the idea of someone taking a picture of their car.
If you don't want your car (or you) photographed, don't go in PUBLIC!
You have no expectation of privacy with regard to what people can see when you are out in PUBLIC.

I would not waste 1 second getting worked up over it.
I personally feel strange/do not care to take pictures of other peoples cars, I dont care if your driving the latest Bugatti, I dont want a picture of your car.
Atcually, as long she reasonably perceives a threat, and doesn't actually shoot him, she would get away with it.
That said she probably would have called the police and waited for them to arrive from a safe distance. She would only pull her gun if she had no other choice. Her father is ex special forces and taught her to shoot. She's pretty good.
My point was, in this day and age, if you act strangely in public, things are going to happen.
Thanks for all the comments.. Yea, after the whole thing and I calmed down a bit... I thought , maybe she had a bad experience, and I actually felt a little bad? I was totally shocked and probably looked guilty...??? But, I was not very close at all... and this was in a Plant Nursery...anyway?? I really try to be a just a normal "paralyzed guy" and I thought, like a few have said... she would have first... asked a few questions? I did try to explain, but, she did not want to hear me. I have owned a few "beauty" corvettes and I drew attention for sure. I also think driving "that car" is not something that you would expect to be low profile?? I still am not convinced she was right given a total public parking lot with dozens of people everywhere... even another guy I talked to seconds earlier about how cool the car was, watched in horror.. (BTW... he didn't offer any help)??? arrggg. I don't know... maybe your right... maybe she thought I was the creepy dude in a wheelchair??? I do everything to not look or act like that guy?? But?? In this day and age.. cant be too careful of camera wielding crippled guys!

What an exaggerated reaction to your photos! Her wanting to keep the car un-photographed suggests she fears maybe having it taken by a debt collector; some form of subsequent theft/vandalism; or perhaps she was NOT supposed to have been driving the car and feels that the owner (husband?) may find out (see pics on the internet??) and give her a tongue lashing lol.
In any case she's a bit cuckoo.
Parked on the street in front of a mcdonald's to use the ATM next door. When I got out of the car there was an employee with his cell phone asking if he could take a picture of my car - he admired it. I offered to take one of him with it, but he was happy with just the car. We had a little chat - no drama.
I dont get some poeple - either she was a privacy freak or up to something she shouldnt be; debtor, affair or just out with the car without permission.
And what are you going to do with this info after you have it? Really?
Memorize what? the plate number? So? Yes I see your link.. SO? now what?
Im being serious. Paranoid...
I think she thought it was the bank.. Shes a cockroach
That's precisely my point; a guy in a wheelchair in a public lot holding a camera that hasn't touched or said anything to your wife would not reasonably be perceived as a threat. Any previous incidents your wife has been involved in would have no bearing on whether she can point a weapon at a stranger that, for all purposes, has done nothing to her. The OP's right to take the picture vastly outweighs the right of the car owner to point a firearm at him.
I don't mean to dwell on the OP being in a wheelchair, it's just that the legal system would have a field day with a scenario like this, and the OP could make things very difficult for your wife.
Again, you simply cannot pull a firearm on someone for taking a picture of your car in a public setting.
Honestly, I have no reason to believe that that site will give you an address based off a license plate number, and I'm not putting in my credit card number to find out. If you want to try yours, I'll gladly give you the plate number from my company vehicle and if you can tell me the address of the office it's registered from, I'll be the first to acknowledge it.
But it still wouldn't have anything to do with taking a picture of a car in public. My cars have six-digit plate numbers; if a bad guy can't remember them for the few seconds it takes to write them down, I doubt he'll understand the interwebz.
How would my wife, mother or daughter react if there was a stranger standing by her car taking pictures?
Highly
uncomfortable at best. Likely a little scared. And I suspect they aren't unusual in this respect.
I don't think most guys give a rip: i'm cool with it -- but a completely different dynamic when women are involved.
I agree.. Im over it. Today went to car show... took more pics. Took 3 bullets to the chest. Luckily I was wearing my triple Kevlar Vest. Wheeew. Anyway, a few pics I risk life and limb to get! Buzz
Little Lotus was kinda nice??
LOL.. Wow.. the weird part here... I actually thought I was erasing all but one... as it turned out, I actually wipe them all out. A Friend said they have seen this woman and someone told him, she is in politics?? Go Figure? Maybe it actually ,makes more sense than I know??? Humm..
