The tires will get hot so we are always changing air pressures and watching the track temps.

Our cars are born to run, especially if you start to dial in the suspension tweeks.

) It does have some nice run off room but really deep gravel pits which are really hard to get towed out of.

What a track, nice sight lines, no Armco, lots of run-off room and the mountains are set a nice background picture.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So we took our spec Boxsters to INDE MOTORSPORTS RANCH this past weekend. I decided to take my 02 996 to see how it felt on the track and to dial in the PSS9's. I did 6 laps at 5/10 and came in. As soon as I get my helmet off I hear a loud hiss. UGGHH I freak out (I drove the car to the track). Turns out my new (used) set of fikse wheels had a leak in the wheel...very not repairable at the track. So luckily we had an extra set of BSR wheels with a good set of tires so I threw those on and went back out. The car did great! All I need is a sway bar (good amount of body roll)and a set of pads (whatever is in the car now are crap). Even with the smaller rear tire the 996 was mostly neutral and turned in ok. The extra 1.1L also makes a big difference, which also changed all my braking points (pads didn't help). I have clients and friends say I am crazy for selling the 930 but I am loving every minute of this 996! So far just what I was looking for. A GREAT road car with AC and a good stereo that I can drive at a good pace to do ride a longs and have some fun. I was doing a 2:12 which is a ok time for that car at 8/10. Our BSR cars will do a 2:04 and our 914-6's will do a 1:57.
One of the last sessions when we had the track to ourselves my student took a few photos from in the car.
Overall a great weekend. If you ever get a chance to drive at INDE I highly recommend it!
Thanks for sharing the pics...I'm very much looking forward to my first track experience with the 996 although I'm sure it will be brutal. Need to check with the local club up here in Minneapolis to get some info.
Mother-they are going to have an SCCA event in October and NASA has been down there along with the PCA. It is worth doing. I am really lucky that I get to drive this track as part of my job.
The 914-6 has a 2.5L now so I don't the HP. I haven't driven it (I am too tall) but it is wicked fast through the corners, and that is where the time is made.

sweet... so what pss9 setting did you end up with?
5 front? 10 rear.
setting 1 is usually stiffest and 10 being softest.... counter clockwise stiffens (looking at the dial).
I just go full stiff and play around with the sway bars settings to tweak.... lm def the weak link with this set up.
Thanks, the orange had to go. I love the black with the silver wheels
I started out with 4 in the front and 6 in the rear. Then I went to full stiff. It needs a sway bar. I am thinking about the Eibach setup unless someone has a reason why I shouldn't.
Yeah we do 40 minutes at a time. And most time I have a few students so I will go two in a row 4 to 5 times a day, so the track kicks my ***.
go with gt3 bars.... they are light and has 5 way adjustability. They will transform your c2.
BTW, the higher the number... the softer the setting. Rears should be set stiffer than the fronts.
Great pix! Our cars are born to run, especially if you start to dial in the suspension tweeks. What a track, nice sight lines, no Armco, lots of run-off room and the mountains are set a nice background picture. How hot does it get out there? I know that you don't have the humidity we have in the East, but heat is tough on tires.....to say the least.
I may have had them set wrong front to back or my memory is bad.
I have looked into the GT3 bars and know them well (used on our spbox cars) but if the Eibach's will let me do some adjustment and save me so big $$$ (even at my cost) I might give them a try. I am not getting stupid with this car, done that in the past. I don't need a race car, jut a light duty DE car. The race car should be done by xmas:

It is a great track (I swear i don't work in their marketing department
) It does have some nice run off room but really deep gravel pits which are really hard to get towed out of. It was 96 this past weekend with like 7% humidity. The track is at 4,100 feet so it doesn't get much hotter than that. The tires will get hot so we are always changing air pressures and watching the track temps.
