I have used Sol @ Perfect Power for a few things and he has never let me down.

I've been going to the same guys since I bought my 996 (on recommendation of a trusted friend but even he thinks its time to go) but have finally hit a point of extreme displeasure with them. I work in the loop and live northside (almost Evanston) and would like any recommendations that anyone would have.

I have heard good things about Perfect Power, but have not used them myself. I have used Golz Motors in Deerfield and can recommend them. They also did work when my car was under an EssyCare Warranty.
Golz Motors is walking distance from my house. I know that a lot of Pcar owners use them. They did some work on my 73 right before a road trip. They replaced all my fuel injectors, and when I came to pick it up, I was surprised by the bill. They never called me to warn me that this was what they were going to do. The car ran fine afterwards, but I got stuck with a high $$ bill that I wasn't expecting.
I currently use Perfect Power. Sol is honest to a fault, and I recommend him highly. He's a bit of a fanatic, and will talk your ear off about nearly any topic Porsche related. I trust him completely, and he's never let me down.

I used Midwest Eurosport in Bensenville for my PPI and had an oil change done there. I went there a few times before I purchased my car and have called them also with questions. They have always been very helpful and professional. One thing I liked was that they only work on Porsches, I have never seen any other vehicles in their bays. I have not had any other work done there but am considering for my 60K service (or maybe attempt some if it myself).
