Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Acquired a Continental TRD7416U-OR radio for my 2003 996. My car has option 490 which I believe is the basic sound system. I have 4 speakers and I believe an amp in the front truck.
Looks like this radio may be plug & play in place of the CRD-23, but there are two wires and a connector going into the "G" port on the back of the CDR-23. What is this for? And what do I do with in since there is not "G" port on back of the Continental radio?
Certainly appreciate any help and guidance!
That's the G spot m8. Good luck on your hunt!
But if there isn't a plug on the back of the Conti I would say leave it out. Test it all works before putting the radio back in the dash tho.
This was my understanding as well. I sent Tor at BergvillFx pictures of the back of my CDR23 and was told he didn't have anything that would be useful for plug and play.
CAI said Amp and head unit would need to be replaced.
I'm not trying to misinform anyone, just this is my experience. If something Plug and play does now exist for the 2003 MOST cars, I would LOVE to put it in with one of these Continental units.
I live close to CAI and have talked with them and told same thing having to replace amp and radio, not true. , I went with Fiber converter and has been working great with OEM amp and aftermarket radio. (alpine) here is good read on working with MOST systems in the 03-04 car.
