Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The original grease had gotten pretty hard and the Super Lube loosened it up as well as lubricating on its own.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I got a used switch on ebay and that didn't fix it so it's not the switch.
My car has 175K on it and I noticed the drivers seat "dragging". I was sure the electric motor was going to need replacing. Sure enough one day I went to move the seat back and nothing. Of course it was pulled up since my wife last drove the car and I couldn't get in the seat to drive the car to have it looked at. After some coercing I was able to get it out moved back enough to remove the seat. Ordered OEM motor replaced and nothing. Took it to our local Porsche Pro and he go it moving again. He thought something might have been wedged in the tracks. However, now it moves in short burts. If the seat is all the way forward it takes like 14 pushes on the switch to get it moved all the way back. Not ideal. Any ideas? If it was the switch wouldn't it work or not work?
Thanks!
It may be an intermintant switch. I might be able to jumper the switch by pulljng the seat cusion and removing the plug off the back. Havent looked at the diagram but this should be your next step. If it moves freely its the switch, if not its crap in the tracks.
If it's anything like my car I sure hope the local expert lubed up the tracks when the seat was out. My seats are manually operated and I could hardly move them when I got the car (~100K miles). Pulled them out, lubricated all of the moving bits. It was a bit of work but it made a huge difference in how easily the seats move.
Reaching back out on this issue. I got a used switch on ebay and that didn't fix it so it's not the switch. It's not the tracks either. Any other ideas what might be causing this?
i honestly don't recall, but knowing me it was probably Super Lube aerosol. I had the seats out as well which allowed me to get the spray everywhere I needed it to be. The original grease had gotten pretty hard and the Super Lube loosened it up as well as lubricating on its own. I didn't disassemble the slides, just worked them back and forth a lot. I have manual height adjustment as well and gave those pivot points a similar once-over.
