Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I'm looking to replace my starter and it appears that there are two different designs for the starters: A long shaft design and a snub-nose design. Are these different design interchangeable or are they unique per application that I wasn't able to determine? Both design are shown to be applicable to my 2003 4S at various sites. Which one is preferable? Long Shaft Bosch SR0451N: 99660410700 Snub-Nose Bosch SR0808N: 99660410300

What he said. And, get a brand new Bosch starter, not a re-manned starter. You can get one on Amazon.

Bought mine new off Amazon a couple years ago for about $120. Looks like they're currently out of stock there, and quite a bit more expensive elsewhere.

Whats wrong with the refurbished? Sadly I had no choice as mine was finished and wanted a new unit but it was B/O. My only comfort is FCP Euros lifetime warranty.
