I stopped using cruise control completely after a few days when suddenly it cut out completely and I had to drive along the side going about 35.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey guys, I just got my Boxster a few months ago and for the past week I have been noticing something weird. At first, when I would have cruise control on I noticed that my speed would start to reduce and the engine start to make a clanking noise. I stopped using cruise control completely after a few days when suddenly it cut out completely and I had to drive along the side going about 35. Just today I was driving and I could just barely get to 73 mph. Another thing I noticed was as I shifted up gears, it would get more and more difficult for it to reach 3000 rpms. Is this a common issue or does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
