Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi -
I'm getting to the final parts of
my engine install,
but I've run into a problem with some of the PSE lines plus two mystery lines.
When I got the engine back from the builder, the bracket was mounted on the wrong bolt. Now when I try to move the bracket up to the correct bolt, one of the lines that comes from the outside of the PSE vaccuum canister and wraps underneath and then connects to the gray switch on the side is too short. It's worth noting that I have a Fabspeed 200 cell X pipe and I beleive the original owner who had them installed might have turned off PSE.So, is it possible that that the hoses are mis-routed? If PSE is turned off, does it really matter? I'd like to know the correct routing, does anyone have a diagram. I did find
this post from 2004.
but the link is dead and there isn't much info.
Here is a photo of the way the bracket came back to me plus two "mystery" wires...
- red line shows where the bracket was mounted, and where it needs to go (at least from all of my research)
- Yellow circled connector is mystery thing #1 - any one know what this is or where it connects to?
- Blue circled spade connector (female) is mystery connector #2. Does this connect to #1? Where else could it go?
Here is a video of the issue just to provide some more clarity.

So I need the following:
1.) A routing diagram of the PSE
2.) Thoughts on why the current line that goes to the switch from the sideof the vaccuum connister isn't long enough
3.) Answer as to if it even matters if PSE is disabled
4.) Answer as to what the mystery wires are or where they go
Thanks
Yellow goes to your AC compressor (you will have to take it back out to attach).
If Blue is a vacuum line, I think it goes to that nipple on the grey canister right above it in the photo.
Thanks for the replies. Yes, I think the yellow thing goes to the AC.
The Blue circle shows a spade connector, not a vacuum line. Look very closely and you'll see that it's a thin black wire with a female metal spade receptacle on it. Where does this go? Anyone???
Yes the bare spade connector goes into the clearish connector for the ac compressor. It tucks in to the right of the compressor. Cant help on the change over valve mount, gray thing, but u should have a vac line that goes over to a 4 way connector by the accumulator. Its the black ovalish conrainer by the starter. You might clarify the year and model of your car. What do you mean that PSE is disabled? Cars that have a switch on the dash for PSE turn off PSE when the light is illuminated. I believe in most cars PSE is in "loud" mode unless switched off. From my recollection, activating the switch is opening the vacuum line which pulls the flapper in the exhaust into quite mode. The only other control of this vacuum switch automatically happens at a certain speed (something like 25 mph to 35 mph) where it automatically switches to quite mode unless you break the diode that allows that to happen (discussed several times in prior posts).
Here is a thread which has some info that might be helpful to you.

In my case, I mounted my vacuum cylinder on the front or middle bolt (can't remember) that holds the fuel rail on. It doesn't really matter where the vacuum tank sits as long as it clears in the engine bay and the lines reach. The other option is just buy a longer vacuum tube and replace the one that is there if you already have a good mounting space.
As far as not connecting the vacuum line, I don't think it would matter as long as you plug the end of the line going into the intake. The exhaust would always be loud and obviously not switchable.
I'm not a PSE expert so these are just my thoughts from the little bit that I know.
