According to the paperwork the Water Pump was replaced less than 2 yrs ago (10k miles ago) by the Local Porsche dealership.
Leading evidence: 'Replace according' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is '#1' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check around the impeller drive shaft' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

#3 As far as the Coils and Spark plugs they were all replaced, including the Coils, Sparkplugs and Injectors.

Not one DROP at all, Ive been doing this for a while now to see if there is a leak in the system, but then last night I decided to check the coolant level once again and yes it was low........

At the same time I'd get the car in the air and check the water pump for any leak sign and the bottom of the coolant tank along with other possible coolant leak sources.

I drove the car for a good 2k miles, again the car doesnt over heats and the temp stays in the green (182-196), after topping it off last month cleaned my garage and placed cardboards on the floor to see if the car was had any leaks after driving the car.
Two is I think his car has one or more bad coils and it is time to replace these and the plugs too if they are close to being due to be changed on time or miles.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

A little history on my situation. The car is a 2004 911 AE 40th, the car has 118k miles and runs like a charm, average temp is between 182-196'f there are NO LEAKS and no smoke. Ok so last month I checked the coolant level and it was low it took about 3/4 of a gal to fill it back up. The oil is clean, the temp is good, and there is NO SMOKE and No visible Leaks..... any IDEAS?
Cracked tank leaks on "frame" then onto muffler. Occasional wiff of anti freeze is the only indication.
Bad pressure release on the blue expansion tank cover allows antifreeze to leak out into small trough into drain tube emptying out near #2 cyl.
Is your cap updated to the latest ending in .04?
Went through something similar. I wasn't losing a lot of coolant but could always smell it. One day after a spirited drive, I had a nice puddle behind the left tail pipe. I replaced my coolant expansion tank and top last week. So far so good.
Awesome thank you!!!! i think thats what it is because i was getting CEL misfire Cyl #2. and if it was leaking all over the Cyl #2 that explains the Cel. thak you !!!!!!!!!
Scenario 3: Bearing in water pump starting to go, so shaft has a small amount of play...not enough for car to leak when parked, but enough for coolant to escape while system is under pressure and impeller is turning...
thank you also was it dificult to replace?
According to the paperwork the Water Pump was replaced less than 2 yrs ago (10k miles ago) by the Local Porsche dealership. How often does OEM parts go bad (Water Pump)?
Agree. I think the OP has two problems.
One is a coolant leak. For this I think the cap has to be suspect #1. Unless the cap is new and the newer part number I'd replace this just because.
At the same time I'd get the car in the air and check the water pump for any leak sign and the bottom of the coolant tank along with other possible coolant leak sources. The hoses/fittings and radiators and the AOS.
Two is I think his car has one or more bad coils and it is time to replace these and the plugs too if they are close to being due to be changed on time or miles.
#1 Thank you i will go get a new Cap today.
#2 as far as the water pump it was just replaced not too long ago and i looked and there were no leaks.
#3 As far as the Coils and Spark plugs they were all replaced, including the Coils, Sparkplugs and Injectors.
Thank you!!
I didn't have time to tackle it. I've read that it is a PITA to replace. You need to drop the engine and move it over to the right. To remove the tank. Took it to my Indie and he replaced in one hour.

Since your coils are new/recent (and thus presumably not cracked), a bit of coolant, even if the coolant was dripping onto the pack, should not be sufficient to cause a misfire.
As far as your question about how long the water pump lasts: there is no exact "lasts for xxx miles" answer, but yours (10K miles / 2 years) certainly ought to be good. Still a good idea to check around the impeller drive shaft for dried coolant.
Good luck with the diagnosis - post up what you learn.
Not sure I'd trade an infrequent water pump job for burden of having an air-cooled engine's top end rebuilt at sometimes just 50K miles.
Those air-cooled engines only look good using rose colored glasses looking back through the mists of time.
Is your coolant tank yellowish in color? Have you performed a pressure test on the coolant system? Start with a new cap for sure. If that doesn't solve your coolant loss issue then I'd say the leak is from your coolant tank. They are hard to detect visually unless you can spot dried coolant under the tank. GL
Purchased my 2005 (996) C4S last year. Previous owner said he occasionally saw a spot of radiator water on floor of garage on drivers side rear. I noticed a coolant smell after driving and did see small drip occasionally. Read forums and decided to have Indy replace tank even though it was clean and white. Once out it was apparent it was leaking on the back side near seam. No way to see while installed. Moral to the story, in my opinion, "white tank" does not equal not leaking.
Probably not your issue, but at 64,000 miles it was discovered that my oil cooler had a slight coolant leak that was releasing steam. It was only found when they went in to preemptively fix the IMS. They also found the AOS was cracked and getting ready to go.
I did have a little bit of temperature variation prior to them fixing the cooler, but it wasn't much.
If the plugs/coils were replaced and thus not due to be replaced on time or miles then the misfire is probably a bad connection. That it appears concurrent with this coolant leak can be significant or just coincidence.
Often times, well often enough, after a plug/coil job when a misfire appears it can be traced to a bad connection between a coil and its plug or between a coil and its wiring harness connector. There is also the possibility of a bad (prematurely bad) coil or even a plug. For indy shops I don't know warranty details but the dealer service offers IIRC 2 year, 24K mile warranty for just such a possibility.
If you have any warranty on the coil/plug job my advice would be to return to the shop that did the work and have this looked into.
But get that coolant leak taken care of pronto, too.
UPDATE
: Ok so I got the Blue expansion tank cap from Pelican put it on and a week later WAHHHLAHHHH!!!!!! The car hasn't smelled like antifreeze or the lever has not gone down. While I was at it I also ordered a serpentine belt, gas cap, and oil filter... lol So far so good on the antifreeze. TY all
