Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that contain suggestions
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
Without the bearing returned, there's no way to know if someone used the retrofit kit to repair an engine that had already seen a bearing failure.
Leading evidence: 'Repair engine' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Repair engine' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

Suggestion
The next bearing change(50000 miles or 4 years) ,I'll use the IMS solution,or IMS pro from LN,although I might do it sooner just for peace of mind.

The ONLY IMSBs that should be replaced are those that "are perfect".

Suggestion
There are some desktop sets with ones that should have been replaced while they were still perfect, but they cost more.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Nothing else qualifies for a retrofit, without some risk of future failure due to wear debris contaminating the oil supply.
FWIW I just had mine done 2 days ago at 27k miles. Peeled off the seal and saw that oil had seeped into the bearing. I too now have an expensive paperweight but it's a lot cheaper (and smaller) than the 20k option. No regrets
No, return it to LN to finish the registration of the warranty.
Yours was at stage II bearing failure then, still safe to retrofit without risks, but well on the way to the end of the line..
Jake did mine at 18000 miles, plus a few other upgrades, I am a happy camper. Tonight it makes another trip to Los Angeles, this time with the EXPEL covering on the front end.
LN just told me the warranty will not be valid without the completed form and OEM bearing returned back to them, and that only 10% of customers return the bearing. In the event of failure, they may not honor their warranty.
Thats right, and its why I mentioned it.
Without the bearing returned, there's no way to know if someone used the retrofit kit to repair an engine that had already seen a bearing failure.
Every now and then someone will send in a failed/ failing bearing and still expects a warranty on the retrofit kit. No way.
Sadly, after contacting LN, since the warranty on the IMS Retorfit classic is only 30 days, my time has expired. The good news is... my engine is running great.
The folks at LN are extremely helpful and did give me a number of tips to keep my engine in top form, oil recommendations, filter, etc. The next bearing change(50000 miles or 4 years) ,I'll use the IMS solution,or IMS pro from LN,although I might do it sooner just for peace of mind.
Guess I still have a conversation starter with my OEM bearing
