Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I am kicking myself but I rushed to get my garage reorganized and cabinets installed because the detailing season was starting with the early spring.
Leading evidence: 'Install because the detailing season was starting' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'storage space, i'm going' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Install because the detailing season was starting' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Not storage advice, but the first thing I'd do is get that floor professionally repaired & coated.

I'm thinking the closet and that nasty wooden workbench and sink totally removed and replaced with this:

I use a camp water jug on a stool for washing hands.

One problem is storage space, I'm going to have this closet removed before I move in:
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm buying a house with a small three car garage, not exactly what I wanted, would have liked taller ceilings.
Pic from the front:
One problem is storage space, I'm going to have this closet removed before I move in:
Here's the other side of the closet, I'll have them close and seal the door, but leave the door:
Here's what the previous owner is leaving for me to start with: (that's my van I was doing a test fit with, tight, but it fits)
That's two gas water heaters, a water softener, and he added the sink, it works, hot/cold water.
I have three cars to park, van, 2014 Honda Accord 4 door, my 03 C2. First thought is the van up against the far wall headed in. I'll have to get in and out via the side doors, no biggee. I only drive it when my 996 is down for maintenance. Honda next to the van, and the 996 in the bay by itself.
Any ideas on what to do to maximize storage and still allow me to park all my cars in there?
I'm willing to entertain leaving the van outside.
I want to buy one of those small hydraulic scissor lifts.
Thanks in advance!
1) Leave the van outside.
2) Areas where you won't be working/ moving around (walls, rafters, etc.) should be devoted to storage (shelving/ racks).
3) Keep things on wheels (tool boxes, benches, chairs, etc.)
4) Install the lift with full functional use in mind. If you can park a car over it, even better.
I just ordered the New Age cabinets from Costco, $1200+ tax and free shipping. Overall impressed for the price and there is plenty of storage in the kit and something like that would probably be way more efficient than just the work bench. I still have parts of the garage to redo but detailing season is here so I got what I could done.
I would keep the closet and put the door on the garage side if garage storage is your goal. Maybe keep both door active so you store in house items as well.
Not storage advice, but the first thing I'd do is get that floor professionally repaired & coated.
BTW, my buddy lives in SA and I've been meaning to visit him and hit Twisted Sisters sometime.
I second the floor, do it while its emptied. I regret not having mine done but I didn't really have the time to spare. I think the deepest the cabinets I have our is 18 inches.
Don't forget the sound system, TV, refrigerator, Porsche posters for the walls, and couple of easy chairs -- after all, the guys are coming over, right?
That's a given.
One of the best things I ever did was put a Black & Decker Work Mate on wheels. I'll try to remember to post a recent picture of it later. This was taken when I was making the lower section. Just a box to hold the thing in place; with the legs folded under. The wheels aren't installed yet in this shot, and the power strip is just visible at the back. Having the power strip is handy - just run an extension cord to it and you can plug-in all the saws, drills, routers, etc. you'll ever use on the bench.
The best features are the mobility and the clamp-in table top. Picture added...
Check you building code. You might have to change that interior door (left over from that closet) to a steel one since it will now be connected to the garage.

What do you think?
That is something I would like in my garage. I didn't have budget to run pipes and water to my building. I use a camp water jug on a stool for washing hands. Not the best set-up, but it works. If I were you, I'd try to keep the sink. Cleaning up that area and adjusting it to your tastes/ needs would make the most sense to me.
I agree on the sink. I put one in my garage attached to the house (I also have a stand alone separate one now too), and I use it all the time. Not only for hand, but often for final wash up of parts with soapy water, all the way to washing paint brushes. I'd definitely hang onto it, don't think you'll regret it.
UPDATE: Signed for the house on Friday. Demo'd the nasty sink/cabinet and painted the wall yesterday. I really need the storage space if I'm going to part three cars in there, a full size van, Accord, and the 996.
Next step is to demo this closet to free up more storage space. We move in this week so this will have to be done once I move in.
Congrats on the new house! What else did you end up deciding on? Floor, cabinets? I am kicking myself but I rushed to get my garage reorganized and cabinets installed because the detailing season was starting with the early spring. If I knew we were going to shut down for 2 months I would have pulled everything out, had the floors refinished and painted. Still going to paint but it's going to have to go around the cabinets.
Haven't decided on all the particulars yet, first priority is to get this house I'm in listed and sold!
Pic of house I'm moving out of, it's on an acre and sits about 30 mins north of the Alamo:
Congrats on the new house! I wish I had a garage at my current house - mines currently about 5 miles away from home - major pita...Anyway, since you did just buy a new house, and generally speaking everyone buying a new house stretches a bit, a pertinent question would be, what is your budget? We can throw out suggestions all day long (and there have been some good ones) but if you cant afford them, whats the point?
Not the best pic, but here's what I wound up doing for our one-car garage. New Age cabinets are great bang for the buck. And, I'd highly recommend Quick Jacks if you don't have room for a two or four post lift.
