Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Yeah they checked back in with me a day or two later and dropped the price a whopping $500.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

This may be a stretch, but I'm in the market for a 996 and came across this:

Have been speaking with them and based on the Carfax, there was an owner based in Paramus, NJ from 17-19. They don't have any service records of the car, so I wanted to see if anyone on the forums knows someone that may have had this car or knows of a friend that had it, etc.? Or maybe worked at a shop that this car was serviced at?
ANY help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!
I do wonder why it's back up for sale so quickly. Did the buyer back out? Did the buyer get it and find something wrong? Did they just have buyers remorse and trade it in? Very interesting...
I think the fact that it has not had the IMS bearing changed (at least, I don't think it has) is probably scaring some. Potentially even the new owner.. That's a several thousand dollar hit someone will have to take.
Maybe I'm confused or missing something? You're saying the person that purchased it off of BaT 3 months ago was unfamiliar with the IMS and got scared? Not likely the case off of BaT. IMS is beaten to death on BaT. It was listed in NJ on BaT and now it's for sale at a dealership in Oklahoma. Doesn't make any sense to me. Unless the dealer bought it off of BaT and is trying to make a few bucks. Not likely either after BaT fees and transport.
what am i missing?
After speaking with the dealer it seems the buyer from BAT may have been an auction house? The dealer mentioned getting the car at an auction.
Seems like a crazy ownership history, but with a proper PPI done it could be a good buy. We'll see.
Why dont you comment on the thread on BAT and have the previous owner reach out to you perhaps you can get info on what happened when the auction ended.
Ah, sorry to hear that. Did you see the car in-person at all? Do you know a good indy Porsche shop in town? Not sure I want to ask the Porsche dealer to do a PPI. Any help is appreciated!
Ive used Dumonts for 15 years. They do a good job. [phone removed].
theres also planet 911 at [phone removed] who have a good reputation. Good luck!
Just have to go with your instincts? Wasnt a huge fan of the history of the car and how many owners it had as well as the lack of service records and documentation. Also, would prefer to find one within driving distance, so I dont have to deal with travel or shipping it.
They wouldnt really budge on the price either. Oh well. Search continues...
If anyone is dying to own a lapis blue , grey interior, C4S Cab, I have a 2004 with 53k miles, original owner, garage kept. Thinking of maybe getting a 2020.
