Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have run lowered for a year now with stock sways and it is great for getting around....

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello guys
Not sure what suspension to purchase yet, i know the differences but i have never seen any on a 996 C2. If you have pics, please post them up.
thank you.
Are they really large improvements over stock?
This will give some indication of the change in ride height. The cab is a 02 C4 w/ stock US suspension. The coupe is a 03 C2 w/ X74. On the X74 the distance from the ground to the edge of the car body, measured plumb through the center of the axle is: front 24 7/8" rear 25 3/8" (with winter tires).
Man, that first pic makes it very clear just how absurd the base US suspension was from a ride height perspective. Were they just practicing for the Cayenne?
The X74 lowered suspension definitely looks better. The floaty front end is gone and the car corners flatter with less body roll. But the ride is stiffer, jarring, less comfortable, and scrapes on ramps and driveways can be an issue. Uneven roads and potholes are not good. Haven't had a chance to try X74 on the track or in the snow yet. Like the stock and M030 suspensions, X74 is not adjustable, which can be good and bad. Good: idiot proof, nothing to set up. Bad: cannot corner balance or change ride height or anything.
You are going to have to test drive each one to really know what is right for you. I never tried the M030 in any flavor but I can say that after driving in the X74 I can't go back to stock. I can't stand the floaty, bouncy stock ride. But with the X74 and GT3 seats, if I ever get hemorrhoids, it could be a problem.
Manhole covers that are slightly elevated, approximately 2-3 inches, also pose a major problem if you have the x-74. Just the other day I hit one of these and thankfully I had the protector plate. Needless to say the plate was ripped off from one of the screws holding it in place. The plate was beyond repair and consequently I had to remove it. I agree with the other posts in that once you have the x-74 you won't go back.
Here's another photo of the X74. If you have sharp eyes you might notice that I have not attached the front lip spoiler to the aerokit front bumper. That is because my driveway/speedbumps/parking ramps would rip it off. As it is I can still scrape the bumper cover if I go a little too quick or don't have the wheel at full lock when approaching the driveway.
If ride height might be an issue, PSS9/10 and GT3 suspensions are height adjustable and are popular options.
Thank you so much guys. i went to porsche today i saw a GT3 ride height. its really low but the low looks just right.
Going into my garage is an issue for sure.
Would you spend the extra cash for GT3 sway bars? Gert is a fantastic source and i will order from him but i need some user response first.
I dont track the car yet and i barely find time to drive it . less than 3k miles a year for sure. When i drive it though i want to feel the road, i have the pse with sport cat and headers and the car sounds nuts, now i need it to feel nuts. thats my plan.
That's why you have a steering wheel....so you can dodge stuff in the road.....I have to do it every time I drive my 996 with X74 plus trying to save the tires and wheels from potholes....I ruined a front tire a few years ago hitting a pothole and I live in sunny NC.....but all puns aside I love my X74 suspension....it handles so much better than stock and the 1 inch lowered looks
great.............
