Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 1 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I just fixed it last weekend.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I hear a zinging sound that seems to come from the back of the car but no necessarily the engine. It occurs with Revs that are more than 3500. Gets a little louder as the Revs increase all the way to redline. Cannot for the life of me figure out what it is. Any thoughts? Thanks

POST 2Original post

Sounds like your serpentine drive belt or one of your pulleys is rubbing against something, check to ensure all your pulleys and the serpentine drive belt are all free and clear of any obstruction. Mine was rubbing against my K&N cold air kit box, repositioned the box, no more zing!

Will check that - Thanks

POST 4Original post

It would help us help you if you posted a video recording of the sound. If you're not getting is MIL or check engine lights, then I'd recommend running a test with a Durametric. Lots of things can cause that kind of sound.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So how ridiculous is this - the sound was coins in the center console. For some reason it was reverberating in a way that it seemed to be coming from behind me. Removed he coins and sound gone LOL - Thanks all

POST 8Original post

Hah, good one. My funny sound was my car turned into a Turbo 911 after I had pulled the stereo out a couple of times for some wiring issues. As I revved up, the turbo was more pronounced. It kinda sounded cool actually. Come to find out, one of the speaker wires RCA plug/pin broke off in the stereo. I left it for almost 2 years and just turned off the stereo when I didn't want to listen to turbo, lol. I just fixed it last weekend. I miss my Turbo........
