Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Im no expert, but Im thinking I shouldnt be able to see through the rubber. New one is on order. I really dont want to pull the transaxle anytime soon again. what began as a clutch replacement has turned into new DMF, RMS, Input shaft seal, and all the other little wear components inside the bell housing. Oh, and the tranny mount. On the bright side, I get to buy more tools.

POST 2Original post

The bushing isn't solid. If you use the AGA tool, you don't need to drop the trans to replace the mount.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Got my replacement today. No daylight to be seen through the rubber.

POST 4Original post

Definitely replace the mount since it's an opportune time. Just know the reason it's closed is rubber flashing from a worn out compression mold used in the manufacturing process. The flashing has nothing to do with the integrity of the bushing. A solid bushing would be absolutely horrendous for street driving.

POST 5Original post

Seeing light through the bushing has nothing to do with the bushing's structural integrity. The rubber in the mount doesn't even have to be torn to be squishy or collapsed. It's the solid rubber parts of the mount that will show fatigue/cracks... A new one can't hurt, even if the original one hasn't totally failed...
