Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that contain suggestions

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
Change the front pads to pagid orange and disconnect the sensors.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm restoring a '65 911. Couldn't stand walking by it everyday and not having a 911 to drive. Picked up a 02'. I drive it around town and in the mtns but I'd like to thrash it a little bit on the track. What are some things I should look out for?
It depends on how fast/experienced you are. If you're just starting out, you can have fun with the car completely stock. As you get faster you'll notice stock won't cut it. In my case it was like this:
Hmmm...my street tires are getting trashed - this won't cut it. Got some 17" Kumhos for the track.
Hmmm...I've worn out my stock pads and melted the sensors in one day. Change the front pads to pagid orange and disconnect the sensors.
Hmmm...the car understeers like a pig. Got Pss9s and aligned to -1deg camber on the fronts.
Hmmm....the car is overheating after 5 laps. Added 3rd center radiator. Problem solved.
This is over about 3 years mind you.
HU HUM....<clearing throat>
We need pics of this new car (and the old one) or this plethora of info will be halted immediately!
Start stock and see if you get bitten by the bug..... if its not your thing, keep it stock, if ya just "Gotta have more cowbell" well, let the mods begin
BTW Welcome to RL......

This is it (with a few minor mods)
Just kidding. It's a lot like your coupe. See below. I'll dig up some pics of the build....
NICE!
Let me know if you get sick of those side skirts
LOL
Looks like US Stock suspension from the ride height. One of the first things many people do is get rid of those orange corner markers (pumpkins) Cheap mod, easy to do, and looks great IMO
I find I get better cornering traction with the wheels touching the ground...
If you can try to find some people in your area with different mods to their cars. I love my X74 suspension (and it's quite decent on the track), but some people find it too harsh on the street. Same with brake pads... Some people can't deal with the squeal of track pads on the street.
Here's a video to get you into the mood - my '99 with X74 suspension and PS2 tires:
not really, there is a sponsor here "bumperplugs" (do a quick search) Eric is a good guy, there is dealer, ebay and others.... dont buy the cheapest ones....
Also if you get some silver bulbs like the ones at xenonmods it will complete the look
Nice vid, Van! It's no wonder you kiss your car. Thanks to all of you for the help. I'll let you know how the 996 holds up. This is my first week on the forum. It's like a buncha Porsche sickos quarantined together here. Sweeeeet!
