Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I found a few other posts about this old issue regarding side flaps on the cab top not closing properly, but none of them had pics. Thought I'd post mine just for reference for anyone else that encounters this. This gist is, when operating the top, there are 2 flaps (driver and passenger side) that are driven on worm gear. When the top is down, they pop up and cover the frame. When the top is up, they're retracted. Over time the grease dries on the gear and the small motors dont have enough power to overcome the friction. In my case, this meant I had to press on the flap manually then continue closing the top. The fix is to simply grease this worm gear, then run the top up and down a few times. I just did it, and resolved my issue completely. The flap Worm gear to lubricate
