Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm trying to retorque my BBS Sport Classic II wheel. What size bit do I need? Also how many ft.-lbs.do I use?...thanks

POST 2Original post

8mm Triple square. Aim for 13-14 ft lbs. Do not exceed 18.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Talked to a representative from BBS and advised to double check the threads of each titanium bolt.. Also, to use Loctite blue on each bolt before torque to specifications.

POST 4Original post

Is this the wheel you are referring to? If yes I didn't know it was made by BBS.

POST 6Original post

Could you share the BBS rep contact info , I have a 19" RS/GT that I need advice on. Mike

POST 9Original post

Dang Rich! Thats a cool 99! Love it just like it sits. Bet it looks great on the road. Peeps saying, What was that???.

POST 10Original post

I have long appreciated the unusual factory paint offerings the orange one looks great in garage next to the Ocean Jade Metallic and Pastel Yellow examples. Rich

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sorry guys this is not the unusual paint colors thread. This is the unusual BBS wheel colors thread. Powder coated flat black by previous owner...I'm rolling with it figuratively and literally!

Lecturing on forum etiquette and doesn't even have center caps pointed at valve stems!

POST 16Original post

When repainting our Sport Classic IIs might paint the edges black just like that but center spokes body color. We like the stance of cars with about 60 series tires and might create the illusion of that.

POST 19Original post

I think you are a bit off on torque specs.I have these same wheels and the torque specs are 95 Ft Lbs and should be tightened in a star pattern to evenly mount the wheel .It can keep the rotors from warping also.13/14 ft lbs would be closer to torque specs for a spark plug [18 Ft Lbs] . If you use the lower specs don't turn your radio on so you can hear the wheels making noise as the lug nuts back off.I would never use lock tite on a wheel lug nut,way to many potential problems can come from it .If you use anti seize on any fastener know that it will affect the tightness of your fastener . Any anti seize or lube should only be done if manufacturer recommends it .Correct torque specs should keep the wheels on. Its not hard to find the correct fastener torque specs for virtually every nut and bolt on a car [ shop manual ] ,your torque wrench should be calibrated periodically based on use . I get my snap on torque wrenches calibrated yearly.
