Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
I parted out a clean interior Boxster hoping to get some nice pieces for my 2000 996 but soon discovered the Boxster black was very grey and satin finished which looked awful next to the black 996 pieces.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey guys,
Does anyone know the difference between
https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_In...096-01-A03-OEM
and
https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_In...096-00-B12-OEM
besides 1 is $90 and one is $40. Obviously i'd prefer to spend $40 vs $90, but I can't figure out which if not both would work for my car.
2001 996 C4
Turns out the last 3 digits are distributor and not color codes....apparently they are both black
https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...t-numbers.html
One is for the earlier interior with the hard plastic surface (I believe the cheaper one), the high dollar one is for the later "soft touch" interior.
The Pelican parts guy can tell you which is which.
Thanks RedTele, in the link I posted above its actually Pelican Parts telling the OP the code meanings, Apparently B12 and A03 are different distributors for the same part. so B12 isn't necessarily OEM, but at 1/2 price and it being a simple tray.. I went for it.
Thanks all for the replies... Much help and Much appreciated!
I'm in the middle of a 2001 C4 resto-mod :-) and these are going to come in handy....
It's looking good!
I'm getting some upgrades done to my '99C4 w/aero and several of my 986 Boxsters. It is nice that there's so much crossover between the two models. If you know one, you have a pretty good handle on the other.
Keep posting pics!
Just a note that interior plastics are not interchangeable between "black" 996 and "black" 986 boxtsers. I parted out a clean interior Boxster hoping to get some nice pieces for my 2000 996 but soon discovered the Boxster black was very grey and satin finished which looked awful next to the black 996 pieces. It's likely the difference between the two parts referenced.
