Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

While you have access to the injectors have them pressure cleaned & tested.
Leading evidence: 'Clean &' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean &' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
I suppose you can use a barb and hose clamps to replace the cut section but not sure I would recommend that due to obvious fire hazard if something goes wrong.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

While performing the aos and starter replacement, i had damaged the black fuel line that goes from the driver side fuel rail to the tee near the firewall.
It comes off of the 3/8 barb on the front of the fuel rail and into the tee.
I called the local dealer and they say that both fuel rails and the fuel line are one one and the fuel line is not sold separately.
I know fuel line can be purchased separately, but need to find it.
I can take a pic of what it connects up to on the rail.
You might have to buy the whole rail. Could you possibly post a picture?
Could be #17
Could also be #1
It should be a pressure line because the 996 fuel system went returnless in 2002.
Didn't see your post above. Okay, so this is what I found. I believe you have to buy the whole thing, but I'm not 100% sure.
Here it is
. What I would probably suggest is calling and speaking with a specialist to double check this for you. [phone removed]

I might just get a used one from dcauto unless anyone has a better idea. Luccia, thank you for your help. If i come across something different i'll let you know.
For 02 and up, it's 99611003655 per

$425 here

Unfortunately the fuel lines seem to be attached to the rails with some manufacturing processes so they don't use hose clamps. Probably not meant to be replaced
I suppose you can use a barb and hose clamps to replace the cut section but not sure I would recommend that due to obvious fire hazard if something goes wrong. I see how tempting this is compared to $425 though...
Tell me about it. I have ordered one from dcauto for $185 shipped. At least i know for the future. With the money i am supposedly saving by doing it myself, 185 isn't bad.
Also a good idea to thoroughly check and clean the used fuel rail + hoses as it's exposed in the used part pile who knows for how long. Any debris can clog the injectors.

Would there be a reason to not choose the bosch over the porsche branded one?
Hell for $37, why not?
Four new bosch injectors are on their way. I have to locate two more that aren't $100 each. The four were $150 shipped. I was concerned that they were remans, but i was assured they were new.
I have received four injectors today, the other two are on their way from pelican. the ones i have received are made in china according to the stamping on the injector.
