The only thing I can think of why that was in there is someone was trying to adjust the bottom bolt on the rear window regulator.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I tried to fix by removing the latch and fiddling around but it did not work.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I gave a quick search for this and couldnt find a thread. Anyone ever have this rattle? Coming from right behind the door latch hook. Trying to see what the fix is before I rip apart the interior panel. I tried to fix by removing the latch and fiddling around but it did not work. You Tube

POST 2Original post

That area is pretty easy to access. May just be a loose retaining bracket or similar. Pull your seat, pop the panels off and take a peek. All the harnesses run along the floor so not much there but window actuators and air.

Wouldnt I take out the panel below the rear window to access from there?

That's what I was referring too, sorry for the confusion.

got it thank you. Ill post what i find out

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I pulled off the rear interior panel. Its not coming from the latch,,,its coming from the bottom of the rear corner. Like someone dropped a wrench in there or something. See video below. Is there any way to get down there without pulling out the regulator and going in from the top? I wish I had a mini camera I could drop down there. You Tube

ya def need that assuming its something metal thats rattling around down there. I just have no idea what it is. Wish I had a camera or another way to look in there. I literally just did the rear regulator on the other side last week. Its such a brutal job,,,,Id rather have my fingernails pulled out.

POST 9Original post

U can get cameras that plug into your phone for $25. Or go to the parts store and rent one.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I ended up ordering the camera and then after that I kept poking around. I took off the mud flap thing towards the bottom corner of the rear quarter. Under that revealed an access plug about a quarter wide. Took that off and sure enough there was an extension and a hex socket sitting at the bottom of the quarter panel. I had to remove the hex socket off the extension in order to fish both pieces out thru the access hole. The only thing I can think of why that was in there is someone was trying to adjust the bottom bolt on the rear window regulator. The regulator was still original. Had to split the socket and extension in order to fish it out of the bottom access plug You can see the extension here
