Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

New 2001. I open the passenger door and the interior lights come on properly ( the switches in the overhead console set to middle position of course).
When you open the driver's door - nothing. So searching all around the frame of the door looking for something that looks like a switch or actuator, and can find nothing.
Searches on here didn't get me anywhere.
Does anyone know what ( a switch or latch of some kind ) makes the interior lights come on, and where is it located on the door or frame?
Thanks
OK, thank you. I suspected this given there were no other obvious devices to be found anywhere.
Guess I'll reach for some WD40 as a first shot. I need to replace the window regulator in any case, so fixing this will be part of the same project.
Cheers

Window regulator - mark the glass position and the exact locations of the bottom bolts with a grease pencil. It will save you hours of adjustment time.
Door latch - read the thread and make sure you buy the correct XZN bit. They are not a normal bit in your toolbox. I bought a set of XZN bits on Amazon.
Well thank you!. I just got it a week ago. Needs a little sorting out, but I'm a details kind of guy, so it's right up my alley.
Some plans include: a modern radio of some kind, tires, removing those rear bumperettes, and I will likely add some stripes - I love stripes...
Hey Kelvin
Awesome - we will connect.
I'm switching out the radio and looking for a bin/cubby to insert into the space where the CD holders currently reside.
Can't seem to find the company that supplies them?
