Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Run completely normal' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'based' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace cap too' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suspected cause
I can't find the leak but completely suspect based on reading that it is likely the coolant tank.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I know, another coolant leak question
i parked my car and an hour later noticed a puddle of coolant dripping from the left side exhaust tip.
i looked under the car and it appears to be dripping from the heat shield onto the exhaust tip.
I looked in the engine bay and cant find any traces of a leak on or around the coolant tank, but I did notice that the bleeder wire was in the up position.
the motor was cooled off, and I didnt lift the bleeder, is this strange?
could this cause coolant to purge out? Or is the fear of the dreaded cracked tank come to visit my garage

I parked for an hour. Came back to find a pool of coolant under tailpipe. Just like you described. I can't find the leak but completely suspect based on reading that it is likely the coolant tank. I drove home about 30 minutes. Car ran completely normal. Was 100* out, temp gauge remained normal.
Bought the tank at the dealer and a new cap. Got 2 new engine mounts and already had the plastic coolant pipe joint.
So, I'm replacing it all.....Won't be for a few weeks. I'll be taking pics of my adventure. Also not looking forward to it.
Hope that fixes it.
I also have the IMS solution, H&R springs. Looks like you have the silver version of my black C2.
I would bet it is the tank.
I bought an inexpensive bore scope and found coolant drops between the side of my tank and the wall of the engine compartment.
Mine would only leak when the coolant was up to temperature and pressure. It dripped from the exact same place.

My bet it's a crack in the coolant tank usually near one of the ports. Replace with ONLY a genuine OEM Porsche expansion tank. Replace the cap too.

I concur. When my coolant tank went bad you couldn't see a crack or see any leakage. While parked after a good drive, it puked about a pint of coolant which rained down on the driver side exhaust.
Might
not be the tank: My left side coolant leak came from the 'y' shaped coolant line that connects the pump, expansion tank, and rest of the works. The plastic joinery of this 3-ended hose leads a pretty hard life, and the part has been revised by Porsche. When I get home I'll see if I have the revised part number.
Thanks all for the replies
I have a new(er) Y pipe, and it was dry to the touch, so not likely that
I'm leaning towards the tank, just not looking forward to that job
also, after my drive to work this morning, no drips to be seen. We'll see after my drive home in 100+ temps
Stop driving the car, buy the tank and replace it. I know it doesnt make sense but this is how every story about a cracked tank starts. In the beginning it just takes a certain amount of pressure in the system to get the crack to open. If the tank fullt fails, u dump fluid and over heat it will be infinely more expensive.
