Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that contain suggestions

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
You can use race engine specs for similar sized cams and aluminum bores, or just common since and measure known good m96 cam and bore, or use the measurement from a m96 with no visible wear and correct "matching caps"...
Leading evidence: 'Use measurement' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use measurement' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Oh, that's not good.
Possibly careless, ham-handed, or misinformed about the importance of keeping the original parts together.
More likely incompetent than shady.
Len Hoffman can match the cap to the head and re-stamp the matching numbers..
or if you have the skillz and are handy with micrometers/dial bore guages you can do a precision match and re-stamp your self..
If the cap is too loose you can file the mating surface on a flat file untill the fit is correct, or if too tight you can get shimstock in 0.001" 0.002" 0.003" thickness and shim to correct clearance
You don't always need a boring machine or CNC to get precision fit, in fact even the machines are " hand verified" for precision fit..
Did u check to see if it belongs on the other head and a bad mechanic switched them? Might be a dumb sugestion because i never looked to see how that stuff was labeled/stamped. I thought tge heads did have different numbers?
Porsche produces no such specs...
They expect/want you to just buy a new one..

The real key to it all is how well you can use precision micrometers and dial bore gauges, the precision of the instruments is really in the "hands" of the user..
If I had to guess, just based on the fact that
@UIDS
has coughed up the money to be a site sponsor, the account is legit and that is probably Skip's partner.
Why pass up a legit opportunity to poke fun at George or Skip? And you know I want to see some merch with that logo. Can never have too many coffee mugs.
Yes, it's me... I created/payed for that account way back in February 6 months ago...
I do forget that I even have it being old an all, and forget to use it...
@hatchetf15
Yes that Logo would make a very nice coffee cup ....
