If you have no fault codes for SAI or intake resonance flap, then that is probably a Tip plug that has been plugged off..

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

what does this connector go to? Its sitting on top of my drivers side fuel rail. This is a 99 C2. Cant find anything where it should go/ connect into. Looks like a extra fuel injector connector but I have all 3 plugged in already. Any hep/ info is much appreciated!

POST 2Original post

That is a Mintimer connector, they are used for the injectors and also for the change-over valves... The are 3 change-over valves on Tiptronic and 2 on a manual.. The manual has a change-over valve for SAI and one for intake resonance flap, Tiptronic adds another change-over for Trans cooler control valve. Your car could have a Tip harness on a manual car, or you need to verify you have the other 2 change-over valves connected in working order.. If you have no fault codes for SAI or intake resonance flap, then that is probably a Tip plug that has been plugged off..

its a manual. I dont have any check engine lights or anything that seems to be wrong. I guess in short this is normal and shouldnt be connected to anything? Seems odd to me. I have a hot start issue going on with my car and though this could possibly be the culprit but seems like thats probably not the case.

POST 4Original post

That "spare" Tiptronic connector on manual cars is the source of much consternation on this board, seems to pop up about once a month. I am a victim as well.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
