Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, I remember I used to get a warning gong when leaving the lights on and the key in the ignition. I noticed today that I do not get a gong anymore. Any ideas why this could be ? Thank you!

POST 2Original post

Maybe the gong elf under the dash is on strike? I try to leave a few crackers in the car just to keep him happy. ---- So it could be the ignition switch not sensing the key in the switch. Does the car make a sound any other time? Door open or anything like that? If not, it could be the piezo speaker that makes the sound.

POST 3Original post

Probably the ignition switch. If you turn off the car, and leave the key in, and open the door, it should say "Ignition key not removed" on the tach LCD. If it doesn't then the ignition switch is suspect.
