Also I drained the gas tank of all old gas, and filled about half a tank of Premium Grade gas with a Fuel injector cleaner.

Hey all, so quick run down, I�ve replaced the fuel pump (Bosch) new Starter (Bosch) and Crankshaft Position Sensor (Bosch) 2001 Carrera 4. TipTronic. it wasn�t starting before I�ve replaced all these parts. so now its Starting.. but really �shakey� and it will die instantly unless my foot is on the gas.. any ideas? Much appreciated. Also I drained the gas tank of all old gas, and filled about half a tank of Premium Grade gas with a Fuel injector cleaner.

Check for Vacuum leaks at the intake plenum. When I installed my starter I did not correctly seat the plenum, resulted in a vac leak that would allow the car to fire up and then die right away. I removed everything and reinstalled and it resolved the problem. Note, I could not visually see the portion of the plenum coupler that was folded over allowing the leak, after much fiddling I was able to feel it from inside the plenum. The video below is how the car behaved as a result of the leak. You Tube

Also check your oil filler pipe...known to bust when replacing the starter. Look where the corrugated part starts on the oil filler pipe. Causes massive vacuum leak and engine dies.
