Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

i have searched the forums, talked with VF Engineering, ect.. with no fix yet. I installed the vf engineering supercharger kit on a customers 99 Porsche 911. It is manual trans with cable throttle body. I can not get the flash to go into ecu. I have the cables to bench flash, the flash goes all the way to the end, then when doing a final check it says one of 2 errors depending on how the software feels that day (sarcasm). The errors are Ecu Communication error: Error requesting security seed, ecu memory test routine result error, unable to test ecu memory. This one is the more common i recieve. The other is just this: ecu memory test routine result error, unable to test ecu memory. any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been trying to get the customer his car back since march. i have sent the ecu to vf engineering and they flashed it using the cable i have. however we were getting a check engine light with a 103-08 code for a faulty control module. i purchased another module and had it cloned and am now trying to flash the tune in this one with same errors. i have started the car with new ecu and no tune to make sure it will run. but obviously cant drive it due to not being tuned for the supercharger and larger injectors, but i do not get the 103-08 code at this time. thanks in advancce. i have video of the flash as well i will try and link to this post

POST 3Original post

Uh ohhhhhhhhh... that doesn't look good Did you try the "recover ECU memory" routine? Are you doing this yourself or did you take it to a "Tuner" ? Does the car start/run? Or, nothing...? If you can't get anything to happen, it might be time to send your ECU to ECU Doctors (google them)... Good Luck

POST 4Original post

Hmmm, hopefully some of the more knowledgeable members can help you will this issue. Mike

I can read the ecu and do anything else. It still runs the vehicle. I am doing myself. However I own a shop and have done many flashes and tunes.

That's what I thought at first too...however, the ECU works, operates and runs the car...just won't accept/finish the tune upload. Mike
