good morning everyone - i am looking for some help - my car '03 c4s had the ignition switch/tumbler fail this weekend - symptom i can insert key but not turn it - wiggle steering wheel to insure wheel lock is not the problem with allowing it to turn, still cannot turn it - blew out with compressed air and cleaned with contact cleaner - still cannot turn key - i had the electrical part of the ignition switch fail two years ago though with different symptoms (key did not return to position 0 without much resistance, difficult time removing and inserting key, car thinking key was still in ignition when removed) - replace electrical part and everything returned to normal - purchased spare switch

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.
