Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just bought, and received, Rennline tie downs. The front ones look straight forward to install, but the rear 66deg ones I'm a bit stumped. If you've installed these, where did you put them? It looks like they might go where my LN sump guard plate is. If that is the case, these rear tie downs aren't going to work.

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK, I got underneath and figured out where they mount. I got the front and rear tie downs installed now.

Where did you "discover" the rear tie downs went and why do you need the tie downs? Do you transport your 911 a lot or just want them in case the car needs to be towed on a flat carrier?

I wanted them so it can be properly tied down if I ever need it towed back home, or if I want to tow it to/from the track. Much safer than running straps through the wheels. I ended up with a damaged wheel on my BMW when I had it towed once. (1 out of 6 times I had it towed home so I could repair it) My race cars in the 80s and 90s had similar tie down loops.
